Over the course of the pandemic year 2020 I started working on my first own Burnout Sumner material after all those countless remixes and mixtapes throughought the years. There was no plan, no big agenda and there still might not be. I found a lot of comfort in experimenting with sounds and creating a little musical microcosm out of synths and samples from all over the place.

Somehow, subconsciously, it became a love letter to dreamy rave nostalgia, all the parties we missed out over the past months and the warm feeling of togetherness they tend to create. Ironically these tracks aren’t straight dancefloor material. Instead they feel like a fantasized and surreal tribute to it. It’s the sound that comes out of me. I simply can’t help it. And I’m more than happy with the result of this little adventure.

Now that the world is slowly opening up again, I hope it will turn this “Imaginary Bliss” into a real one, reminding us that we can turn this world into a better place by working together and joining forces. Bliss for everybody! Yay! I honestly hope you’ll enjoy the music.
